Before Charleston Legal Access (CLA), working-class individuals had nowhere to turn when faced with a legal emergency such as eviction, foreclosure, predatory debt collector, or a custody dispute. CLA is the only sliding-scale nonprofit law firm in South Carolina. By providing attorney access at these critical moments in one's life, we can prevent homelessness and poverty in our communities.
With client fees only covering 15% of our operational budget and a rise in demand for services, we seek like-minded partners to support our cause.
